Brief History
Sri Tyagaraja Aaradhanotsavalu first started in the year 1956 in Anaparti. These celebrations were named “Sankranti Sambaralu” when they started. Sri Goluguri Bapiraju and other elite from the village organized these celebrations under the auspicious guidance of Sri Mudumbi Rangachari and family. The venue then was Sri Ramalayam on the main road. Programs such as spiritual discourses, classical karnatic music and dance presentations, Hari katha, Burra katha and plays – both Puranic and Social – depicting our cluture and tradition – were the main attractions and used to pull huge crowds. These celebrations continued for few years under the guidance and organization of Sri Vemuri Venkata Subbarao (Syndicate Subbarao (Late)). In the later years these programs came to a halt due to non availability of funds.
Sri Uma Rama Lingeswara Veda Sastra Parishad
After a long gap, again in the year 1994 only entusiasts took initiative to start Sri Uma Rama Lingeswara Veda Sastra Parishad to fill the spiritual and cultural void. Sri Vemuri Venkata Subbarao (Late) was President, Dr. Karri Bapi Reddy (Late) was Vice President, Sri Marella Purushottama Sarma (Late) was Secretary and this organization was backed by eminent personalities from village Dr. Tetali Satyanarayana Reddy and others. This has been great inspiration and led to the formation of Sri Sarada Sangeeta Kala Samiti.
